Artiste Performances
Vijay plays the role of a Master and a Drunkard perfectly. He is preseted in a stylish way and gives an excellent performance with his swag and attitude. He does a great job in Emotional scenes too.
Vijay Sethupathi gives a flawless performace and carries his role with ease. His Antagonist role is cruel and dark with a sarcastic touch which is very impressive. It also evokes few laughs.
Malavika looks beautiful and she does a very good job in her limited screen time.
Arjun Das is good in his role of a tough criminal. Rest of the cast are Ok and have done their part.

Analysis
Lokesh Kanagaraj has tasted huge success with his previous flick "Khaithi (Khaidi)". Expectation were high from the moment MASTER came on floors and After the teaser, expectation went even high.
Master Starts off establishing Bhavani's Character. JD's entry is stylish and will attract masses. College episodes feel like a roller coaster ride. There are highs and lows but you will stay engaged. Movie take a turn when the set up is shifted to observation centre. Here things change and actual story begins.
Core emotional point is introduced during Pre Interval sequence which brings depth to the story. This is the point from where the proceedings get interesting. Interval Bang is solid and fan pleasing.
Second half too starts off well but loses the tempo during the proceedings. It comes back on track when Vijay and Vijay sethupathi meet for the first time which is well executed. It gives a high and evokes laughs at the same time.
Kabbadi sequence is one of the highlights in the movie and is shot terrifically. Vijay fans will surely love this episode. Climax fight is good but ending feels abrupt as the character of JD is left with a suspense about why he is drunkard and what happened in his past.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has succeeded in using both the stars to their best. Narration and Editing could have been better as the movie has some pacing issues. Chopping off few scenes here and there would have made a lot of difference by making the proceedings even more interesting.
Anirudh's songs are good but the Background score gives a punch to the scenes. BGM is Awesome. Visuals are excellent and brings a stylish look to the movie. Fights choreography is fantastic.
(MY) Final Word
Master is a story about how a professor fights a goon who uses juvenile observation centre's under age criminals for his unethical works. Both Vijay and Vijay sethupathi will impress you with their screen presence and terrific performance. Though the movie feels dull at times, it has it's moments of heroism, entertainment, emotions and action sequences that will engage you. On a Whole, Master Ends up as Enjoyable commercial flick.
Bottomline: Master - Watch it for Vijay and Vijay!
Note: This is my take on the movie. That is why I am not rating the movie. I respect each and every movie. Making people read my review and influencing them to form an impression on a movie before watching the movie is never my intention. I am a Movie lover too. This is just to express my view on the movie. 😊
