Story
Veera Raghava (Vijay) is a RAW Officer. He resigns his job when he kills a small girl in his mission due to intentionally wrong information given by his team. After he resigns he visits a psychiatrist to come out of that trauma. In that process he goes to a party and meets Preethi (Pooja Hedge). They both decide to marry and she asks Vijay to join the security force of Tamil Nadu. Vijay, Preethi and their head of security visit the East Coast Mall for getting the security contract. When they are in the mall, it is hijacked by a group of terrorists and everyone in the mall are held hostage. What will Happen next? Will Raghava help the Government in this? How will he save the people from the hijack? This forms rest of the story.

Artiste Performances
Vijay is Extraordinary as RAW Officer. His Attitude and Swag are utilized to their best and he is presented in a stylish way. He delivers a stellar performance and carries the whole movie on his shoulder.

Pooja Hedge gets a limited screen time yet gives a good performance. Aparna Das too gets limited screen. She gets to work with Raghava in few scenes and she does a decent job. Both actresses are beautiful on screen.

Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley are good in their comedy zone. Selvaraghavan makes his presence felt and is excellent with his sarcasm.

Rest of the Cast are OK and have done their part.

Analysis
After Blockbuster "Doctor" Nelson teamed up with Thalapathy Vijay for Beast. Right from the announcement till the chartbuster songs and Trailers, expectations have gone up and finally movie hit the screens.

Movie starts off introducing Veera Raghava's character with an Amazing Action Sequence. Initial portions are engaging and Raghava's emotional conflict is established here.

After that, Movie slows down. Herione is introduced and Halamithi Habibo song follows which is well shot and choreographed.

Movie runs on a slow pace till Terrorists Hijack the mall. From here the movie is better as it has its moments of highs and dulls.

Raghava Sneaking and killing the terrorists one by one is shown in a superb way. This surely will be an eye feast for Vijay's fans.

Pre Interval point to Interval is one of the highlights in the movie. It's stylish and sets the right stage to an action packed second half.

Movie has serious pacing issues. It's inconsistent and very slow at times which might bore the audience. As Most of the movie is set inside the mall, with thin plotline and not so interesting screenplay, movie feels dragged.

Second half is Very Engaging and Racy. It's filled with good entertainment and stylish action sequences.

But Director made sure Audience are entertained throughout. With hilarious comedy scenes sprinkled in right amounts all over the movie, Proceedings feel better even when the the pace is slow.

Climax portions are one of the best sequences in the movie. A Jet chase takes place which is shot terrifically. BGM by Anirudh amplifies the experience and makes it an amazing scene to watch.

Raghava Arrests the Terrorist and movie comes to an end with Jolly O Gymkhana song.

Dialogues are good. Editing could have been better. Camera work is Top Notch. Production values are great.

Anirudh needs a Special Mention for the BGM. He gives and electrifying BGM and lifts every scene to next level. Beast Mode BGM is haunting and gives an Adrenaline rush.

(MY) Final Word
Nelson delivered two different subjects with dark comedy in his previous outings. He tried to do the same with Beast but the Slow narration spoils the experience. He succeeds in giving a Stylish Action Drama experience with some dark humor but in terms of story and narration, he succeeds only to an extent. Vijay's Stellar Performance, Stylish Action Sequences, Good Entertainment and Terrific BGM make the movie enjoyable. On a Whole, Beast Ends up as a Decent Action Entertainer, Vijay's show all the way but not a Typical Thalapathy Flick!

Bottomline: Beast - Slow Yet Stylish Action Drama

Note: This is my take on the movie. That is why I am not rating the movie. I respect each and every movie. Making people read my review and influencing them to form an impression on a movie before watching the movie is never my intention. I am a Movie lover too. This is just to express my view on the movie. 😊
