Analysis
Amid lots of hype and anticipation, Pathaan finally hit the screens. Seeing Shah Rukh Khan playing a spy in this action thriller is a feast for fans and the audience.

The movie starts off by establishing the attack motive and the antagonist. The setup is well built up bringing the thrill factor into the proceedings from the very first minute.

Pathaan is introduced in a stylish and incredible action sequence. From here, the movie pace takes a roller coaster ride. It is slow at times but the audience is hooked to the screens with the action episodes and thriller moments.

The action sequences are extremely well choreographed and shot on a large scale. There is a car chase sequence during the midpoint of the first half which is amazing.

The pre-Interval episode is another major highlight of the movie. Pathaan narrating the plan is hilarious but the way it is carried out will surely leave the audience awe-struck.  Watching Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika fight together, and do action stunts together is awesome.

After an excellent interval bang, the second half starts with Pathaan and Tiger (Salman Khan) teaming up for a wonderful action sequence. The team-up stunts and chemistry between Shah Rukh and Salman is a joy to watch on screens and a treat for fans.

The director does a great job of maintaining the emotional connect as well. There is a scene that shows how Shah Rukh Khan became Pathaan will surely move the audience. The backstory of Jim too holds the emotional connect of the antagonist. The patriotism angle too is well handled and makes an impact.

From Pre-climax point the movie becomes racy. The director packs this part with great thrillers and extraordinary action sequences. There is a Human Jet chase sequence which is breath taking. The fight in the climax is intense and brings in the tension of whether Pathaan will stop the attack or not. Finally, Pathaan stops the attack and the movie ends with a hint of more to come from this Spy Universe.

Production Values are a major asset to the movie. They are grandeur and lavish. The camerawork is splendid. VFX work is terrific and looks awesome on big screen. Every aspect looks ambitious and done on a large scale. Dialogues are good. Editing could have been better to make the screenplay even more tighter.

Music is yet another asset. The Background score is electrifying and elevates every scene superbly, especially during the action sequences. Action sequences are marvelous. The action sequences and the background score gives an adrenaline rush and makes the audience sit on the edge of the seat.

Director has done a fabulous job with Pathaan. Though the screenplay feels a bit slow at times, he succeeds in engaging the audience with the action episode and ample amount of thrilling moments.

(MY) Final Word
Pathaan is an addition to Yash Raj Films Spy Universe, After Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, and War. It is an excellent addition to the universe. Shah Rukh Khan as a spy is very impressive and amazing. Apart from slow pacing here and there, the movie succeeds in giving an amazing experience to the audience. After watching Pathaan, everyone will surely look forward to future projects in this universe and exciting team-ups of stars. On a whole, Pathaan ends up as an Entertaining and Engaging flick.

Bottom-line: Pathaan - Gripping Spy Thriller
