Story
Movie starts with a fan pleasing introduction of Micheal (Vijay). He keeps spoiling Angel's (Nayanthara) marriage as they both are in love. After a few fun filled episodes the movie turns serious after a hero's friend who is a football coach is wounded by a goon who comes to kill Micheal. The coach has a severe spinal injury and cannot stand up for months. His football team of 11 women are left helpless as they have to go to nationals on the next day. Will they reach the nationals? Who will train them? BIGILEYYYY is the rest.

Artiste Performance
Whistle is Thalapathy Vijay's show all the way. He has three different shades in the movie and he nails all of it. Vijay looks rugged and raw in Rayappa's role. This role offers "Whistle" worthy moments and the title role Bigil where he is a football player which has 2 shades. He has given an extraordinary performance throughout the movie.

Nayanthara as Hero's love interest looks beautiful. She has ample amount of screen space and has done very well. There are few scenes in second half where she has done an excellent job.

The football team of women is another biggest asset. All women in the team look stunning. Everyone in the team have done an unbelievable job.

Jackie Shroff as antagonist is good. He gives a tough fight to the protagonist and his team with his mind games. Yogi babu, Anandharaj as Hero's sidekicks are Ok. Vivek as a team manager evokes few laughs. Rest of the cast have done their part and are good.

Analysis
First of all, Kudos to director Atlee for coming up with such a beautiful script and movie. We have already witnessed Atlee-Vijay combo delivering two big hits with "Policeodu (Theri)" and "Adhirindi (Mersal)". Now Atlee is back presenting Vijay in a different way.

First half starts with an action episode introducing Vijay as Micheal. Verrekkiddam song sequence is an eye feast to watch. Till the accident episode the first half runs slowly.

After a while Rayappa's charecter is introduced and it was nice to watch Vijay in aged yet raw & rugged look. In the flashback episodes, Bigil is introduced playing football match. There are 2 matches in first half which are very engaging and interesting to watch.

First has nothing much to offer other than few emotional moments and football matches. The actual movie starts in the Pre-interval sequences when the hero has to train the football team of women making it a strong and perfect Interval Bang for the movie.

Second half is very much engaging than the first half. It starts with a match where the team loses. From here how Vijay gets control over the team, how he motivates them and how he trains them is shown magnificently.

The must talk assest in the movie is the Football team. All the women in the team dashing. They will completely stun you with their performance in the movie. There are few key charecters who nailed it completely. And the football matches too are shown in an engaging way that the auditorium feels like a football stadium.

Background score by A R Rahman is yet another plus to the movie. In few key sequences and Mainly during the Football matches the BGM takes the scene completely to the next level. Production values are lavish

(MY) Final Word
Whistle is a package of mass elements filled with entertainment and a much neeeded message. Though it is slow in the first half the film picks up from Pre interval and there is not even a second of dull moment from there till end. Starting from Fan moments, entertainment, Practice session and the football matches, everything is interesting and amazing. This movie is for women. To the people who underestimate the power of women and doesn't let them come up and win, This movie is a tight slap for them saying the Women can do anything if they think they can. Atlee has portrayed and delivered this message at the end with some situations faced by women like acid attacks. Even though they face many challenges every day, Women can definitely fight them and can win. This movie is dedicated to women. Kudos to Vijay for picking a subject like this that must be said. Leaving few lags in first half This movie stands as a must watch. Go for it!!

Bottomline: A Respectful "Whistle" to all the women, their efforts and amazing achievements 👏👏

Note: This is my take on the movie. That is why I am not rating the movie. I respect each and every movie. Making people read my review and influencing them to form an impression of a movie before watching the movie is never my intention. I am a Movie lover too. This is just to express my view on the movie. 😊
