Artiste Performances
Nagarjuna Looks Fabulous on screen. In 2002 Manmadhudu was released. They said it's an apt title for him. It's been 17 years and it still suits him. He looks handsome, and young and is a perfect fit for the role. In some scenes, you get to see a different performance by Nagarjuna which you will really enjoy.
Rakul Preet Singh gets a very good role to play that carries all emotions. Her glamour show and the way she performs add very much to the movie.
Now coming to the most important character of the movie. Generally, the hero carries the movie on his shoulders but here, there is another person who carries the movie on his shoulders throughout. He is none other than our Vennela Kishore. He gives a stellar performance. He evokes a very good amount of laughs throughout the movie. One of the major factors due to which we won't get bored at all while watching the movie is Vennela Kishore Awe-mazing performance and comedy timing.
Rao Ramesh does his part by contributing a few laughs and emotions to the movie. Lakshmi Garu does her role with ease in the mother role. She has done a decent job of providing an emotional connect to the movie. Jhansi, Devadarshini and others do the required part
Samantha and Keerthy Suresh's surprise cameos add the required impact to the movie. The rest of them are OK.
Plus points:
Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet singh Performance
Vennela Kishore's Stellar Performance
Feel good music and Background score
Comedy
Last Half an hour
Drawbacks (Which I Felt)
Basic Plot
A bit drag in second half
Some (A) Scenes
Analysis
From the moment Manmadhudu 2 was on floors, everyone was waiting to relive the magic Manmadhudu but sadly it doesn't live up to it. When we see this as the sequel of it (though it's not technically) we miss the magic created by Manmadhudu.
I mean we still love Manmadhudu right!? Screenplay, scenes between Sonali Bindre and Nagarjuna, Dinning table conversations, Bala Subramaniyam mic comedy, Suribabu Lavangam and Bunk Seenu which makes us go LOL even now. Some of the emotional scenes in Manmadhudu have very much impact that lifts the movie to the next heights. Being the sequel of it, In some scenes we feel what is director doing with the film. But if we see it as a completely different movie, it works for most of the time.
Comedy works big time and is one of the major asset to the movie. Emotional connect takes a backseat until the last act.
A few Emotional scenes came out really well between Nagarjuna, Rakul Preet and his Family. Especially, the last half an hour of the movie gets it all right with good emotions.
Music of the movie gives you a fresh feel and two songs were well picturized. The way BGM elevates a few emotional scenes is good. Dialogues are Ok. Editing could have been better.
(MY) Final Word
I would say the director has definitely failed to recreate the magic of "Manmadhudu". See it as completely different story it's a decent watch, with ample amount of emotions and so much entertainment and comedy. Manmadhudu is "2" good in all aspects whereas, Manmadhudu "2" is just good with plenty of entertainment. On a whole Manmadhudu ends up as a Failed sequel and a Decent entertainer.
Bottomline - Manmadhudu 2 - Ekkado Theda Kottesindhi Chinna!
Note: This is my take on the movie. That is why I am not rating the movie. I respect each and every movie. Making people read my review and influencing them to form an impression of a movie before watching the movie is never my intention. I am a Movie lover too. This is just to express my view on the movie. 😊
